Digital Prints Artist Statement
I am deeply drawn to history and its accounts of what was learned, forgotten and rediscovered. This inspires me to create personal figurative timelines in my work. I layer and manipulate various photos taken on vacations, personal objects found in my home or studio to create one image. The results journal accounts from various periods of my life. I am influenced by antiquity, textures, my Colombian culture, and the graphic arts. All of these references nest upon each other and culminate in modern prints with a bit of nostalgia.
Artist Statement
I enjoy storytelling and finding creative solutions that engage the viewer with my work. So much of the practice of painting happens in the solitude of my studio. My hope is that these singular observations put onto a surface will inspire conversations and connections that ties us all to the commonality of our humanity.
