Pleasant Surprises

Don't you love pleasant surprises. Since moving to Bainbridge Island they make living on the island more meaningful. Greg Robinson, chief curator at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, will be displaying my painting for the BIMA Bash in their preview show starting on the 22nd of May through June 15th. Displayed will be samples of artworks donated to BIMA's Bash/Art & Experience Auction. You remember I gave you a peek, well a sliver, of the image. The full image is seen above. The painting will be part of the silent auction on the 18th of June and the full catalog is available online at biartmuseum.org
Another pleasant find is The Plant Shop in Fletcher Bay. It has the vibe of a bookshop except with plants. Mariam, the owner, will guide you towards the best houseplant to live happily in your space and travel schedule. Yep. Your travel schedule so you have greater success of nurturing your new adopted plant. So go and visit Mariam and chat her up. See what other surprises her beautiful shop has to offer. (Ahem. I may have a vested interest in you visiting as she also is selling some of my art).

I love seeing my paintings in the homes of my friends who are also patrons. Thank you to Brent, Krista and Louie for their support, an evening filled with lively conversation, delicious food, and friendship.

I will end this post by sharing my latest finished painting. One thing I do miss from my eastcoast childhood are fireflies. Zoom in and you will see them sprinkled throughout the painting. Enjoy!
