And So It Goes

In the Studio
I continue to escape into my imaginary worlds. The only thing holding me back is my aging rotator cuff, which forces me to take longer breaks. There are times when these breaks interrupt my creative energy, punctures my protective shield and getting back to my practice is a struggle. Noise. There is so much of it now. And quieting it takes the discipline of a monk. Before my break I merrily rolled along and completed two paintings, with a third one at the easel in a strong stage of completion.
I offered a sneak peek of the last painting that was at the easel. It is not an imaginary world. But I had the need to embrace places I have visited. Well here is the reveal titled, Skagen. I have been using a variety of palette knifes in my current paintings to create texture. The shadow area and the sunny hillside are examples of this technique.

I was also invited to submit a painting for the BIMA Bash. I thought it would be fun to offer another sneak peek. Intrigued? Hope so. The Artful Party is on Thursday June 18th and The Gala is June 20th. Information can be found here. https://www.biartmuseum.org/bima-bash-2026/

I recently attended an art sensory experience, Super Blue, in Miami. Fascinating work by artists working with digital, AI and special effects. I am still internalizing the experience and look forward to see it somehow expressed in my future work.
Adios for now.
